Special Line 6 User Group Meeting in Holland - 12-04-05 - page 1 Tuesday-evening April 12th Special Line 6 User Group Meeting; Vetta
Part 1 from several pages. This 3rd meeting was a very special one. We had the worlds first premiere of Line 6 coming to talk with Vetta users and other Line 6 gear users, to establish further contact between the company and it's users. With this contact everybody can gain, Line 6 with direct feedback, the users with additional info and a rare chance to get together. Thanking everybody involved in the process and evening for their time, effort, sharing of knowledge and trust. And on behave of all the users we'd like to thank Line 6 (and that's everybody) for taking this endavour another step further beyond the ordinary. For your information, the whole evening was taped and this is the first page of several that will try to cover what was said. Vettaville will try to have all things covered in these pages however as you can understand, it takes some time to transcribe it, so please be patient.
For openers Late in the afternoon we all got together to have a renewed meeting of the people who already saw eachother in the week to had passed at Line 6's booth at Frankfurter Messe 2005. Line 6 set up some gear to have the abillity to present Workbench that was demo-ed at in Germany aswell. Before the meeting started, several Vetta users got a warm welcome and a simple drink, since they all had to drive for some time to get to the meeting on time. For openers Hans had a very brief introduction on who was attending the meeting and what purpose it had. He introduced Steve de Furia and Darrell Smith and thanked them for taking the time to have this special meeting. To loosen up Ron Huisen (Line 6 product specialist) demo-ed Workbench with a Vetta, here's a small video that shows some nice use of the selector switch with different tuning 'under' them. The second link is provided for those unfamiliar with Line 6's Variax Workbench.
Starters After the 15 min. demo of Workbench Ron handed over the presentation stick to Steve de Furia (Vice President of Product Development at Line 6 US). He started by introducing himself, and thanking everybody for the support over the years and coming out for this meeting. He thanked Hans for hosting this meeting and congratulated him on the fantastic Vettaville website. When Darrel and Steve realised that they had some time to travel after the Messe show. They though it would be great to have a chance to meet with Line 6 Vetta users. Especially since Darrell Smith (the manager of all Amplification Products and also sounddesign devices) who has been very much involved with the specific Vetta stuff aswell as other amps or sounddevices that we have. We thought it would be a great oppertunity to get direct feedback from the people who use our amps, your experiences and Vetta specific, since this group is a dedicated Vetta users and hear your interests, thoughts and discussions around the Vetta amp.
Product Development Steve: Darrell will do the first presentation on our product development, but to give a you a glance on what we do in product development: it's our job to be thinking ahead and to be looking into the future all the time and as far as to some years from now. So we're always looking for:
To give you a sence of what we're doing Darrell has made a presentation to give you an overal picture of how we see the world from the product development's point of view..
