PocketPOD - Vyzex Software Available for Mac... 07-07-07

zyvex pocketpodPocketPOD

Line 6 is excited to announce a new partnership with Psicraft Designs. PsiCraft has designed a FREE Editor/Librarian for the newly released Pocket POD called Vyzex Pocket POD. A first version is available for download now. Use the link for releasenotes and download.

Release Notes:

Vyzex Pocket POD V1.0 is the Tone Editor/Librarian software for Pocket POD hardware.

Following is a list of known issues we have identified in this version of Vyzex Pocket POD. We are committed to releasing an update in the following weeks that remedies these issues, and ensure you we’re working around the clock with Psicraft Designs to bring you the most satisfying editor librarian experience possible.

Known Issues (MAC):

- Delay Time is not editable via the numerical field. Please use the Coarse and Fine adjustment knobs.

- MacBook/MacBook Pro USB port issue. Connecting Pocket POD to the front USB port on a MacBook or the Right side USB port on a MacBook Pro causes Pocket POD to reset. We are addressing this issue with Apple, in the meantime please use the rear port on a MacBook or the left port on a MacBook Pro.

- Loading a tone into the editor by double clicking from your desktop or via the open menu does not load the tone into the Pocket POD edit buffer. In this case please click Channel Put.

PocketPOD - Vyzex and L6T files... 06-07-07

zyvex pocketpodPocketPOD

Once you have an L6T file loaded into the Vyzex editor, there are a number of ways you can put it into your Pocket POD's user bank. Here are the two most direct ways:

1. Press the SYNC button and select the destination position within the User Bank: This will store the tone to the editor's user bank AND will also PUT the tone to the matching location in Pocket POD's user bank. This is the most direct way within the editor GUI.

2. You can also manually save the tone from Pocket POD's front panel. Remember that any sound you load for editing within Vyzex is automatically sent to Pocket POD's editing buffer for auditioning, so you are free to save it anywhere in the user bank you want.

If you are building a master bank of tones from many L6T files, the one-shot sync operation (or front-panel save) will get a little tedious after a few times. Instead, you can engage the BANK EDIT button, step to a location, load an L6T file, press the STORE button twice (This stores the current tone to the current user bank slot), and then step to the next bank location.

Once you have assimilated all the L6T files you need into the editor's user bank, you can transfer it to Pocket POD's user bank in one shot by either pressing the SET PUT button (which puts the whole editor bank to Pocket POD) or by SHIFT-Clicking within the user bank to select the range of tones you want to PUT and pressing the PUT SELECTED button in the bottom row of the bank editor. This will PUT only the selected entries to the corresponding positions on board Pocket POD.

Psicraft is working on some comprehensive documentation now that will detail these and many other tricks and minor bug-fixes for Windows release in the coming weeks.

Psicraft - Vyzor & Vyzex Editors development... 30-06-07

psicraft

Line 6 is excited to announce a new partnership with Psicraft Designs. PsiCraft has designed a FREE Editor/Librarian for the newly released Pocket POD called Vyzex Pocket POD. A first version is available for download now. In addition more Vyzex and Vyzor editor are planned for existing Line 6 gear.

Here's what Psycraft is mentioning:

1. Our Vyzex editors are not intended to replace Gearbox or L6 Edit for any existing Line 6 product.

2. All of our Vyzex editors are free, and this is a policy that will not change in the future.

3. Psicraft's Vyzor products are retail purchase items, and they differ fundamentally from Vyzex in that they operate as fully automatable plug-ins in addition to the stand-alone mode offered by our Vyzex editors. While it's true that we're planning to release Vyzor editors for existing Line 6 gear such as PODxt, Vetta II and Flextone, Psicraft stresses that these will be optional 3rd party products by Psicraft, and that Line 6 is not (and will not) be directly involved in their design, sales or marketing.

4. The 'under $100' quote on Psicrafts website, is an upper limit to what will be charged for a Vyzor editor, but they currently can't see any of their planned Line 6 Vyzors approaching half of this amount: The Vyzor editors they're developing for V-Synth or the Andromeda will be closer to the $100 mark, primarily because they will have no Vyzex counterpart and also because these full-on battleship synths have literally hundreds (even thousands!) of complex parameters to edit and the software development costs of such complexity is going to be reflected in the price.

More editor options will lead to enhanced creativity for everyone, and this can only be a good thing for the music we make.

Psicraft - Vyzex V1.05 for Pocket POD available... 17-08-07

psicraftpocket pod

Vyzex Pocket POD V1.05 is the Tone Editor/Librarian software for Pocket POD hardware has been realeased today. Two different versions are available 1 for Windows and 1 for Mac.

Following is a list of known issues we have identified in this version of Vyzex Pocket POD.

Known Issues (PC):
- Manually associating a .l6t tone file with the Vyzex Pocket POD editor causes the icon for that tone file to change to a MidiQuest 10/XL icon. Vyzex is based on MidiQuest architecture, causing that graphic change. Please note that this does not effect the tone, and the file can still be opened and loaded into Vyzex.

Known Issues (Mac):
- MacBook/MacBook Pro USB port issue. Connecting Pocket POD to the front USB port on a MacBook or the Right side USB port on a MacBook Pro causes Pocket POD to reset. We are addressing this issue with Apple, in the meantime please use the rear port on a MacBook or the left port on a MacBook Pro.

- Edit menu is not implemented. Future release will include manual copy and paste in this dropdown, but it is not currently implemented.

Note- When installing the software, please carefully read the instructions for uninstalling the previous version of Vyzex Pocket POD that is displayed in the 'Information' dialog box. Remember you need to be logged in to the Line 6 site for download.
